The Alumni Association rallies volunteers for the upcoming Nautica Charity Poker Festival, reminding readers that this massive fundraiser thrives only when alums step forward to help. The Homecoming Tailgate drew one of its largest crowds ever, thanks to the Classes of ’80 and ’85, with more than 200 alums enjoying food, fellowship, and even a vintage 1969 GTO parked beside the grills. The newsletter also celebrates the accomplishments of Mayfield graduates—from Patti Delfs taking over as head girls’ basketball coach, to Bob Asadorian’s Peace Corps service in Moldova, to Andy McCartney’s award‑winning leadership at Bowden Manufacturing. Reunion stories from the Classes of ’60 and ’71 capture the joy of reconnecting, while the annual golf outing and Florida mini‑reunion promise more chances for Wildcats to gather.

This edition also honors excellence through the Hall of Fame inductions of Dr. Lawrence Bidwell, Dr. Charles Berner, Dr. Doreen Larson, and Judge Joan Synenberg—each one a testament to how far a Mayfield foundation can carry a life. The “Wildcattin’ With Kitty” column shares personal updates and calls for help locating cherished student‑written articles, while the “In Memoriam” section pays tribute to beloved classmates and staff who have passed. The newsletter closes with reminders about membership, upcoming officer elections, and a warning about a bogus “Alumni Club/Site” that has misled some graduates. Through every page, the message is clear: the strength of Mayfield endures because its people stay connected, show up for one another, and keep the Wildcat spirit alive.

get the issue

The Fall/Winter issue highlights a season filled with energy, generosity, and deep Mayfield pride.
