Students kicked off the year by expanding Homecoming to include freshmen and, for the first time ever, a Homecoming King\u2014Michael Galloway\u2014who joined Queen Ashley Murphy in a night remembered fondly by all. On the fields, teams battled through adversity: football closed with a three\u2011game win streak, boys and girls soccer pushed through injuries and tough breaks, and athletes spoke with pride about their resilience. Alumni and supporters continued to strengthen the school through generous scholarship donations, special discounts like Terry Lazar\u2019s Stanley Steemer offer, and the creation of the Tex N. Collaros Memorial Scholarship honoring a beloved athlete, scholar, and community figure. Plans for the 2014 Golf Outing and the lively \u201cGame Night\u201d fundraiser showed how deeply the alumni community invests in today\u2019s students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the school walls, the newsletter celebrated the lives and accomplishments of Mayfield graduates across generations. From the touching remembrance of Andrew Revello, \u201909, to updates on alumni leading athletic programs, shaping communities, and gathering for milestone reunions\u2014especially the Class of \u201963\u2019s heartfelt 50th\u2014the stories reflected a shared pride in where they came from. Hall of Fame inductees like Dr. T. Arch Robertson, Angela Timperio, Dr. Kathleen Martin, and Dr. Amit Majmudar showed how far a Mayfield education can carry someone, whether into medicine, entrepreneurship, research, or the arts. Retired faculty shared updates from their post\u2011teaching lives, reunions from the \u201940s through the 2000s brought classmates back together, and the \u201cIn Memoriam\u201d section honored those who have passed.
