Mayfield High School continued to shine this year, earning national recognition for academic excellence and celebrating student achievements across the board. From Tom Milyo’s perfect ACT score to strong seasons for the girls’ basketball and boys’ baseball teams, the Wildcats proved their determination both in the classroom and on the field. Students capped off the year with an Enchanted Prom, where Kharisma Mayo and Corey Smith were crowned Queen and King, and more than 330 seniors graduated—collectively earning over $8.5 million in scholarships. The Alumni Association also proudly awarded $19,000 in scholarships to 23 deserving students, highlighting academic dedication, leadership, service, and perseverance.
Across the alumni community, reunion plans filled the calendar as classes from 1953 through 1988 prepared to gather and reconnect. Faculty updates shared stories of travel, retirement, and continued creativity, while the “Wildcattin’ With Kitty” column celebrated alumni accomplishments—from Joelle Krieger Magyar returning as Assistant Superintendent to Wyatt Gooden’s rise in professional racing. The newsletter also spotlighted the cherished Alumni Museum in the Little Red Schoolhouse, where volunteers preserve decades of Mayfield memories. With golf outings, new members joining, and ongoing efforts to keep alumni connected, the spirit of Mayfield remains as strong and vibrant as ever.
